This is an excellent substitution for the "real" thing. very tasty. I might leave out the sesame seeds next time--it made the texture is a bit grainy, but easily overlooked. Thanks for posting the recipe. - 4/22/09

Delicious! I was reluctant trying this b/c I've made my own hummus before and was not impressed at all. I also was doubting it could taste good without olive oil. I was wrong! Thank you for the recipe! (I used raw garlic b/c I didn't have roasted but I'll try that next time.) - 2/3/09

Very tasty, recipe! You actually get the tahini flavor without the calorie load of the real thing! I followed it today, but I'm looking forward to experimenting with this one! Thanks, - 4/6/11

Very tasty! I think I'm going to use a little less cumin next time, but other than that, A+! - 2/21/11

This is great! I used half the roasted red pepper and the garlic and froze the other half for the next time, but the whole one would have been better. Thanks for sharing this recipe. - 8/24/10

My whole family loves this recipe! I used olive oil in place of sesame oil, omitted the red pepper and sesame seed, and used about half of the lemon juice. It has great flavor! - 9/15/17

I love this recipe! I even like this more than the store bought kind. Others hummus recipes add tahini which really makes it taste disgusting. Thank you so much for sharing! - 4/7/13

This is my favorite Hummus recipe on Spark! It's so good and perfect as instructed. MI've used raw and roasted garlic and recommend roasted for the more delicate flavor. I also recommend going with a 1/2 teaspoon salt, at the most. I've made it with 1 t and it was just too much. Thank you so much! - 1/26/10

Subbed in extra virgin olive oil for sesame oil and left out the chili powder and put in ground red pepper instead of the flakes. TASTY!!!!! - 7/17/09
