Introduction

The ultimate, tasty oatmeal. The ultimate, tasty oatmeal.

Ingredients

    1 stick Butter, salted
    3 cup Quaker Oats Old-Fashioned Rolled Oats
    6 cup Milk, 2%, with added nonfat milk solids, without added vit A

Tips

Add some of the reserved toasted oats to each serving to add a bit of crunch to the creamy, slightly sweet oatmeal.

Refrigerate unused portion; will keep for up to a week of ready-made breakfasts.


Directions

Melt 1 stick of butter in a saucepan.

Add 3 cups of dry oats, and toss in butter to coat the oats. Cook until the oats are toasted.

Remove 1 cup of toasted oats from the pan. Set aside.

Add 6 cups of milk, stir, and cover.

Refrigerate overnight.

Remove the cover and stir the oatmeal. Heat on medium high until the liquid just begins to bubble.

Turn heat down to low and whisk. Continue until the oatmeal thickens to the desired consistency.
