These are a very good ginger cookie with a touch of glove, soft and chewy

Number of Servings: 75

Ingredients

    1.25 Cup Shortening
    2Cup white sugar mix then add
    2 large eggs
    .5 cup molasses work in
    4 Cup flour
    4 tsp baking soda
    2 tsp ground ginger
    1 tsp salt - optional
    2 tsp cinnamon
    2 tsp ground cloves

Directions

Mix well and refridgerate 2 hours so dough is cool to work with.
Roll into approx. i" balls and place on ungreased cookie sheep - press lightly with fork
Bake @ 325 degrees for 7 - 8 minutes - watch closely so as not to overbake. Can bake longer for crunchy cookies.
Makes approx. 60 - 75 cookies, depending on size of ball
