IntroductionThis was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. My mom would always make this when I didn't feel well. This was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. My mom would always make this when I didn't feel well.
4-6 oz spaghetti, broken up (nutritional content based on 6 oz).
1 lb lean hamburger meat/ground beef
1 15 oz can tomato sauce + 1 can of water
1 small onion, diced
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste
a pinch of sugar
a pinch of oregano, if desired
1 small-meduim tomato, cut into pieces
1 small green pepper, cut into chucks
Meanwhile, brown hamburger meat in own fat (or 1 tbsp oil, if it is very lean, not included in calorie count). Add onion and cook until clear, with tomato and green pepper. Stir often. Add tomato sauce and water. Add seasonings. Mix thoroughly. Add to drained spaghetti. Serve with a green salad.
Serves 4-6, (half cup spaghetti + half cup sauce)
