I used this to make lowfat pear bread. It took a little longer, but it was worth it!

Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    Pears, fresh, 4 cup slices
    Water, tap, 3 cup (8 fl oz)
    Granulated Sugar, 3/4 cup
    Lemons, .1/2 fruit without seeds

Directions

Select very ripe fruit.
Peel & Core.
Crush pears, (I used my food processor).
Combine crushed pears with water.
Place on stove.
Slowly heat to a simmer.
Press through a colancer, then through a fine seive.
To each cup of liquid add 3/4 cup of sugar and juice of 1/2 lemon.
Bring back to a simmering temperature.
Pour into jars to within 1/2 inch of top.
Seal and save for your favorite recipe!
