Introduction

I wanted a low fat tartar sauce to go with the lowfat fish sticks I feed my kids. So I created this recipe based on what I had on hand and other recipes. I found this recipe easy and tasty, but am concerned the total calculated fat isn't correct. One tablespoon of the mayo alone has 4 grams of fat and 35 cals, so by my numbers each serving of the sauce would have at least 3.5 grams of fat and 32 calories! - 11/5/10

You were correct. The fat was low. While I had correctly attributed 16 Tbsp for the 1 cup, I used someone's entry for Best Foods Mayo that had listed the fat at 2g per Tbsp. That's incorrect. It's actually 3.5g per Tbsp. The nutrition information has been updated.

I wasn't sure about that much lemon juice, but once the flavors had a chance to blend it was just right. Thanks! - 9/16/09
