Ingredients

    • 4 cups bite-size shredded wheat
    • 1/3 cup melted butter
    • 1 1/2 cups pretzel sticks
    • 1/2 cup dry roasted peanuts
    • 1/2 cup raisins
    • garlic powder

Directions

Spread shredded wheat out in a cake pan. Cover with melted butter and sprinkle on some garlic powder to taste. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Add pretzel sticks, peanuts and raisins. Keep in airtight container.

Serving size: 1/4 cup

    the raisins contain 248 cal. for 1/2 cup, they are high in natural sugar content. I usually omit them, and I also try to get unsalted ingredients. I know the No name bite size shreddies has less salt. A great addion instead of the pretzel stick is stir fry noodles{dry kind]. - 9/11/08

    Use Pam spray instead of butter (a couple of sprays to make the garlic powder stick) and you can increase the serving size to half cup with only 4g of fat and around 250 calories. You may have to reduce the cooking time and watch it in the oven - without all that fat to cook in they crisp quicker. - 9/11/08

    I loved this snack. I made it your way first. Then got creative and instead of garlic, I used honey, with a touch of lemon juice. - 3/10/09

    gonna try this w/ chex cereal and lowfat wheat crackers broken into small pieces instead of nuts, also maybe add dried cranberries - 3/10/09
