Introduction

Easy recipe, no prep work. Easy recipe, no prep work.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

1 lb. Pork Chops fresh or frozen
1 tbsp. Minced Onion or 1/4 c. chopped fresh onion
1 c. of your favorite Barbecue Sauce
    1/2 c. water

Directions

Makes 4 4-oz. servings.

Place 1 lb pork chops in crock pot. Sprinkle with onion. Pour BBQ sauce and water on top. Cook for 6-10 hours on low. Serve with your favorite starch and steamed veggies, or let it cool and pull it apart for pulled pork recipes.

Note: My Rival 20-yr old crock pot is a 4.5 qt size and takes about 5 hours to cook this recipe using fresh chops. I use a timer to start the cooking later and frozen chops to inhibit bacteria growth as it sits out waiting to cook. It still finishes in about 6 hours using this method.

I usually find that pork chops can dry out very easily, but after trying this recipe I was so surprised how moist and tender the pork turned out. Such a simple recipe and the outcome is super yummy! - 1/21/10

Growing up, I hated pork chops for that very reason. I figured there had to be a better way to make 'em. So glad you liked it! Thanks for the comment!

This was very easy to make, and it only took me about 4 hours, even on low. It was "scavenge" day, and we had a pound of tenderloin leftover in the freezer. We ate it over whole wheat spaghetti, and it was great! Definitely something we will eat again! - 3/14/09

I'll have to try that 'over spaghetti' idea! Thanks!
