Most of the calories are from sugar. I switched to Splenda and brown sugar Splenda and it cut the calories considerably. It turned out fine and I was able to enjoy it even though I am diabetic. - 3/25/21

I've always loved rhubarb, this is delicious! Don't try to skimp on the sugar though, it provides thickening as well as sweetness. - 1/20/19

No rating since I haven't made it yet but I wanted to point out that cutting this into 16 pieces (4 rows by 4 columns) instead of 9 (3 rows by 3 columns) lowers the calories to about 200 per serving. - 7/2/16

    Incredible!
Just got some rhubarb from a friend and looked up a rhubarb crisp recipe and this yummy one came to my attention. Made exactly as is; and the family loved it! Sugar is a little high, but for a yearly spring treat, I was willing to enjoy the full flavor with balance!! - 5/6/12
