Introduction

Recipe from a can of baking powder Recipe from a can of baking powder
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 cups AP flour
    1.5 tsp baking powder
    1/3 tsp salt
    1/3 cup (5-1/3 tbs) butter
3/4 cup fat free half and half

Directions

Preheat oven to 475F (it's a hot oven)

Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a food processor, using the cutting (not shredding) blade. Cut butter into cubes and put into processor; process until fine pieces form (should have the look of coarse corn meal). With the processor going, add the half and half and process just until the dough starts to pull away from the edges.

Flour a clean surface and roll out dough to desired thickness. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass dipped in flour to form biscuit shapes. Re-roll dough until all dough is used.

Bake at 475F for 12 to 15 minutes until desired doneness is achieved (12 was enough for my oven). Optional (not included in calories): brush tops of raw biscuits with melted butter before baking.

Makes 12 biscuits, 1 per serving.
