Introduction

A quick recipe my mother used to make A quick recipe my mother used to make
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    Bacon
    Kluski noodles
    Head of cabbage
    Olive oil

Directions

Cook bacon in a large skillet. Remove bacon when almost done. My mother never did this next step, but I drain all but about a teaspoon of the bacon grease from the pan and add two TBSP of olive oil. Then add the cabbage (and salt if desired). Cook down the cabbage for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, boil a pot of water and add the noodles. Cook noodles to al dente. When the cabbage is cooked down and the noodles are ready, add the noodles to the cabbage and add the bacon back in. Let cook another 5 minutes to get the flavors together.

If, while the cabbage is cooking down the pan gets dry I sometimes add a TBSP or two of chicken broth just to keep things from burning.

    Very Good
Was good. Proportions not very clear so I substituted. 1lb bacon, chopped head of cabbage into bite size pieces. Drained noodles before adding. Used 9-10oz of wide egg noodles (could not find kluski). Low sodium chicken broth a must. It was simple but with lots of flavor. - 6/5/08
