Ingredients

    2 small carrots, coarsely chopped
    2 ribs celery, finely chopped
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    4 cans chicken broth (fat free)
    2 cans diced tomatoes w/juice
    1c. white kidney beans or northern beans
    1/2c. small dry whole wheat pasta
    1/4tsp. red pepper flakes
    2 T. chopped herbs (Basil, Parsley or Thyme)

Directions

In a large sauce pan or stew pot.
Boil vegetables, tomato's with juice, garlic and pepper. Reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes. Add pasta-cook 10 minutes, stir in beans. Add more broth or water if too thick. Heat through 3-5 minutes. Stir in herbs, season with salt to taste.
