Ingredients
-
1 medium onion, diced
1 garlic clove
3 tablespoons salad oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons coriander
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground tumeric
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/4 cup plain yogurt
3-4 boneless skinless chicken breast

1. In blender or food processor, place all ingredients except yogurt and chicken. Cover and blend at high speed until mixture is pureed. Pour mixture into 12" x 8" baking dish, stir in yogurt.
2. With shart knige, make 3 diagonal slashes in each chicken breast; do not cut all the way through. Add chicken to yogurt mixture. Cover; refrigerate at least 12 hours, turning chicken occasionally.
3. Prepare outdoor grill for barbecuing. When grill is ready, place chicken on grill over low coals. Cook 10-15 minutes over a hot fire, or 15-20 minutes if the fire is cooler. Chicken should be turned only once. Baste often with yogurt mixture.
