Introduction

Creamy, sweet rice pudding just like grandma used to make. Creamy, sweet rice pudding just like grandma used to make.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    4 cups cooked long grain white rice
    2 1/2 cups 1% milk
    1/2 cup granulated sugar
    1 tbsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Cook rice according to package directions omitting salt.

Bring milk to a simmer with sugar and cinnamon. Then add rice and vanilla. Simmer over low-medium heat for about 15 minutes or until heated through.

    I had just 2 cups of rice, so I had to 1/2 everything, but it turned out great! I love the taste...my husband & I put more cinnamon than 1/2 b/c we love cinnamon. Great recipe! Thanks! - 10/5/07

    This was really easy to make and there are so many different goodies to add to it. I used leftover white and brown rice from last nights Chinese takeout, lots of cinnamon, a half cup of soaked and snipped golden raisins, and good milk. Next time I'll try it with chocolate milk and cocoa powder! - 4/6/08
