Introduction

a good, basic bread recipe a good, basic bread recipe
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups skim milk or whey
    1 tablespoon oil
3 cups unbleached, all purpose flour
    2 tablespoon sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoons salt
    2 1/2 teaspoons yeast

Directions

Place liquid ingredients (best if they are about room temperature) in the pan of your bread maker. Measure dry ingredients and pour on top of liquids, ending with the yeast. Set your machine on the dough cycle. In about 30 minutes, check the dough - if it is nicely mixed, you may remove from the breadmaker, form into a loaf or rolls, let rise and bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees in a conventional oven. Makes 12 servings -- that's 12 nice sized dinner rolls or 24 thin slices of bread.
