Ingredients
-
1 medium banana, mashed
1 can (13 ounces) non-fat evaporated milk
1/4 cup chocolate chips (note: the nutrition info given is for milk chocolate; dark or semisweet chocolate chips will have fewer calories and fat but also less protein)
Splenda to taste - anywhere from 2 tablespoons to 1/4 cup, depending on how sweet you like your ice cream
Directions
This recipe is designed for the small ice cream makers in which you freeze a liner in your freezer, then assemble the liner in a container, pour in the ingredients, and stir with a handle - no ice or salt needed. Donvier, for example.
In a bowl, mix banana, evaporated milk, and Splenda until Splenda dissolves and banana is pretty well blended with the milk. Assemble the ice cream maker (put liner and churn into container; have cover and stirring handle available.) Pour mixture into Dovier/small ice cream maker container, then add chocolate chips - don't stir yet. Cover, attach handle, and stir as instructed, usually a couple of turns once each minute, for 20 minutes.
That's it. Ice cream can be served soft, or transfer to a bowl and freeze in freezer for 2 hours to serve "hard" ice cream.
