Ingredients
-
3 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter
2/3 cup evaporated milk
2 tsp vanilla
6 oz (1 cup) semi sweet chocolate pieces
6 oz (1 cup) butterscotch morsels
7 oz. jar marshmallow creme
Directions
Combine 1 1/2 cups sugar, 6 tablespoons butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in a medium pot. Put chocolate pieces, 1 tsp. vanilla and half of the jar of marshmallow creme in a heatproof bowl.
Bring evaporated milk mixture to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium and continue boiling for 4 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent scorching.
Remove from heat, pour over chocolate and marshmallow mixture and beat with a mixer until well blended. Pour into greased 13 X 9 pan and spread evenly.
Repeat with remaining ingredients substituting butterscotch chips for chocolate, and spread over the chocolate layer. You'll want to spread the butterscotch layer before the chocolate layer sets so that it will better adhere to the chocolate.
Cool at room temperature and cut into squares.
