Nan's Baking Powder Tea Buns

This are my Nan's old time recipe.

It's a Newfoundland tradition to have a tea bun with a cup of tea, and you always use Carnation condensed milk in your tea.

A tea bun is kind of like a regular biscuit with a little sweetness. You can omit the raisins, or substitue for some other dried fruit, if desired.

I'm so glad I have the will power to keep away from these buns, though I don't make them very often because others in my family don't have the same amount of will power. Submitted by: AEROBICSAHOLIC

This is a light and moist cake that is not too sweet and has a refreshing green tea fragrance. The frosting uses cream cheese but has enough sweetness to mask the sour taste. Berry and Tea Smoothie

This is my quick and easy breakfast. The berries and tea give you some nice antioxidants, the yogurt gives you probiotic bacteria and calcium, and flax for a bit of good fat and some omega-3 fatty acids.
You can substitute the cup of frozen blueberries for whatever fruit you like...mixed berries, mango, and peaches are all pretty good. Also, mix it up a bit with black tea or oolong tea instead of green. I use greek yogurt in this recipe because I like the taste and consistency of it much better than regular, but use what you like. The flax oil is completely optional; it tastes the same either way, but I like it.Submitted by: HIGHTURKEY
