One way to cut the salt is to use Ms. Dash.
Using oatmeal instead of bread, is more fiber, no gluten and really holds the meat together.
Sub the breadcrumbs for some ground cashews to cut back on the unhealthy carbs.
I like to experiment so . . . after browning the turkey I stirred in lots of medium salsa, avocado, green pepper chopped, broccoli and tomato chopped, flax seed, sea salt, chili powder to taste . . . sizzle for a bit and served on whole wheat tortillas with cheese. Even my 3 young kids and picky ea
Big hit with the family...from my 95 year old Mom to my 18-month old grandchild! Minor modifications: mango salsa, Panko crumbs and added an egg. Revised the calories of course, but it still worked. Used a Foreman grill. Really delish-- will do again. I offer 5 stars for the concept.
