Using almond milk will take the calories down even more.
Super yummy. I used pineapple and mango. Also added 40g protein powder. Super easy to adjust to different fruits
Delicious! This serving size is just perfect. I changed a couple things; I used Kefir (Greek Gods Low Fat Honey Vanilla) and skim milk. I also added about .5 teaspoon of milled flax seed. I made 1 with frozen strawberries, which was a little tart but still quite good, and 1 one banana too. Great!
I made it for the first time this morning and loved it. I am trying to increase my protein and so I added 1 scoop of a GNC vanilla protein powder. I also used ice instead of the water, vanilla yogurt and soy milk.
I liked that it doesn't have bananas in it. I can't eat them. I modified it with vanilla Greek yogurt and added chia seeds to increase the protein. Very tasty and quick to make.
Delish no matter what fruit - fresh or frozen - you use. Mango and strawberries are especially good! For a breakfast meal I just add 6 oz. of fat-free vanilla yogurt and ice to the fresh fruit and blend til smooth. Sure it's about 200 cal but worth it!
I'm always on the hunt for a good smoothie receipe, and this won is REALLY GOOD!! I substituted soy milk & used protein pwdr instead of yogurt. Kuddos for posting single serving. Mine came to 1 cup. :)
added 2 packets of sweetener. I like mine a little sweet. I also used plain non-fat yogurt which probably made a difference. will have to try different flavor next time.
This was wonderful, my whole family loved it. I used skim milk instead of 2% and used plain non-fat Greek Yogurt so it was extra thick so I had to add a little extra milk (about 1 tbsp.) and added 2 packets of Splenda. Thanks for the great recipe.
This makes a great smoothie! Adding oatmeal is a great idea. I add whey protein powder for a delicious non-gritty (and very easily mixable) protein boost. You can get it in a non-flavored variety, but the vanilla flavor from Wal-mart is just as tasty and at least $5.00 cheaper.
I really like how adding some oatmeal changes the texture and adds some fiber. Delicious!
weight watchers brand and dannon yogurt also carry the fat free boston creme pie yogurt
Being from Oz we don't have 'Best Choice' yoghurt - I use Greek style low fat yoghurt, with a banana, handful of berries, desert spoon of LSA mix (good for the liver), honey, half low fat milk & half soy milk & a pinch of nutmeg & cinnamon. Great for breakkie or a mid morning snack. Jen
I would highly recommend that everyone consider NOT using sugar-free yogurt as that means you are ingesting artificial sweeteners which have been proven to be cancer-causing (among other diseases). Research the effects of artificial sweeteners, you'll be surprised at how bad they are!
Im using Hemp oil-they say it has MORE vitamins than flax everything else the same in the reciepe Pretty Good stuff
LOVED it! Tasted wonderful - was super easy to make with my stick mixer and a great source of protein and cals that I needed without the fat. YUM! :)
Milk shakes from Sonic are one of my favorites. I haven't been getting them because of the calories. This would be a great alternative. I experiment and make it all kinds of ways. Thank you.
This is simular to mine But I use 1 cup of 2% milk 2 Tbls vanilla protein powder 6 strawberries fresh 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt law fat and 1 Tbls of grape nuts instead of oatmel. Mix with my braun wand MMM good nice texture and tasty
Why use 2% milk and add all that fat? Substitute fat free milk and decrease the calories and fat. It might be only a small amount, but you certainly don't need to add extra fat when it isn't necessary.
