Ingredients

    * 8 ounces bacon, about 10 to 12 slices (Used Turkey Bacon - 4 slices)
    * 1 pound extra lean ground beef (nutrition figured using 96% lean)
    * 1 cup chopped onion
    * 1/2 cup brown sugar
    * 1 tbsp. dry mustard (regular mustard can be substituted)
    * 2 cans pork and beans
    * 1 can lima beans or butter beans, drained
    * 1 can kidney beans, drained
    * 1/2 cup ketchup
    * 1 tbsp. vinegar

Directions

Brown bacon, ground beef, and chopped onions. Combine drained ground beef mixture in slow cooker with remaining ingredients; cover and cook on LOW for 3 to 5 hours.

NOTE: From About.com with some modifications. It can also be baked for 1 hr instead of using the slow cooker or just cook on the stovetop.

    Loved this recipe - really fills you up. I omitted the vinegar and added about 1/2 more Tablespoon of mustard. In addition, I used totally different beans: black, red, and pinto beans in addition to one can of baked beans...Was Awesome!!!! - 7/14/12
