Introduction

This recipe technically makes a single serving, but it's a generous one by my standards (about 15 shrimp) It's so quick and easy, but packs some serious spice! My measurements in the kitchen are never really exact and yours don't have to be either. You can adjust to make it as hot (or not) as you like. Ingredients

    Shrimp
    Butter
    Cayenne pepper
    Oregano
    Black Pepper
    Garlic powder
    Chili powder
    Thyme

Directions

If you're using frozen precooked shrimp like me, thaw first (remove shells if applicable). Meanwhile, mix the spices together in a little dish then toss them with the shrimp to coat evenly. Melt the butter in frying pan then just pan sear your spicy shrimp. It's that easy.

This was great. I made mine with the steam n fresh green beans. I made the green beans as normal. Then when they were done I took and put them in the pan that I made the shrimp in. I sprinked them with the same seasoning as the shrimp. They had great flavor. It was a good figure friendly meal. - 7/10/08

This is great basic recipe. I doubled recipe, added the juice from 1/2 a lemon and a small can of tomato sauce and then topped the sauce on cooked spaghetti. Enough for d.h. and me. - 5/18/11

This was excellent! My husband and I love it! We had it with steamed broccoli and a baked potato. I think next time we will marinate them a little while in this butter/season mixture. Very very good! - 12/11/10

Very good. I added a tsp of lemon juice to the butter and spices and after my shrimp were hot (already cooked), I mixed the left over sauce with rice vinegar and served it all over lettuce. The sauce turned into a great dressing! - 1/3/12

This was pretty good. I grilled the shrimp on some skewers.
I just made a few adjustments. I made mine more of a marinade. I addedd 1.5 Tbsp of honey bbq sauce and 1tsp oil with the seasings and some water and let it marinate for about 4 hours. Then I just grilled it without the butter.

This was delicious! My husband and I looooove spice and this was JUST enough! The amounts of spices listed in this recipe were more than enough for us to coat two servings of shrimp (which would be 30 by this recipe). We served over a bed of rice. Will make again! - 2/24/10

This was an excellent recipe. I used all of the spices listed. I used a tab bit too much cayenne because these were some SPICY shrimp, but all of the flavors melded very well. I also chose to skewer the shrimp and grill them on the barbecue. I definitely recommend this recipe. - 1/16/09

Very tasty and super simple! Be careful, tho', if you are increasing this recipe to feed a family. It is easy to overdo the spices. (Easy fix for those who find it too hot.....just put the shrimp in a strainer and run a little hot water rinse. The shrimp will still be VERY flavorful, but no burn. - 8/30/08
