I'd love to try this but I'm trying to figure out what's making the sodium so high in this recipe. One crab cake is almost half a day's allowance for sodium. The quantities of Old Bay and Worcestershire don't really have enough sodium to explain it. Am I missing something? - 5/8/09

These were great! We added some finely chopped red bell pepper for a little crunch. Celery would do the trick, too. They were very easy. We'll definitely be making these again! - 4/11/09

Delicious! I omitted the tablespoon of mustard (kept the teaspoon of dry) and added a bit of finely chopped red pepper for color and crunch. These were a big hit with my husband. Presenatable, tasty, and most importantly deceptively healthy to serve company! - 1/9/09

Delicious! Regarding the amount of sodium, I used the Recipe Calculator and found that one serving of crab has over 800 mg of sodium, so there is the culprit! - 11/8/10

The mustard was a bit overpowering so I will lower that next time and add a bit of celery for texture. - 10/27/08

yummm! Really let the crab taste shine not too much bread or other flavor. I hate green and red peppers in my crab cakes, it overpowers the taste. This recipie is perfect! - 6/26/10

I made this and found it good but a little too salty. Id recomend cutting back a bit on the old bay seasoning and the worcestershire sauce as that is my plan on my next attempt

I'm added some Thai crab base, used shredded imitation crab and added some finely chopped red and green peppers (jalapeno). I eat them with Me Ploy hot sweet sauce which I make. It's a very good combination. - 1/20/18

I made this tonight, it was good, but the sodium is outrageous. I used can crab meat and diluted it with water first. I think next time, I will have to get real crab meat, and I think that will be MUCH better. Overall, it was a good dish. - 9/4/14

Just served this for supper and it was excellent. I did add a couple Tbsps of red peppers and celery for crunch. Mine came out a little soupy, so I sprinkled on 1/4 C Panko crumbs and baked the patties instead of frying. - 2/12/12

I really liked these - made them tonight. I used two cans of crab meat and subbed 1/4 c. Eggbeaters for the egg. Also used reduced fat mayo instead of fat-free and added about 2 celery stalks. VERY good for their calorie/fat content. Thanks! - 8/5/11

The flavor was a little flat - I think it is a little heavy on the breadcrumbs. Next time I will take others advice and add celery or bell pepper for some crunch. Parsley and a little lemon juice would add some freshness. Overall the recipe is good, just could be better. - 6/2/11

Wondering if anyone has tried this recipe with imitaion crab (ie: pollock). I use that a lot and it is convientient for me. The recipe sounds really good and would like to try it but real crab is not in my budget. - 4/10/11

    O.K.
After reading all the positive reviews I was really looking forward to trying this recipe but I have to say that I am disappointed. I didn't have any Old Bay seasoning so I found a recipe to make my own. Maybe that was the problem because I found the seasoning a little overpowering. - 2/2/11

these sound amazing and I am making them today. I am going to try to bake them on a cookie sheet instead of frying to reduce fat. As well, will use celery instead of onion & mustard powder / worchester as I'm not a fan. Perhaps a smidge of garlic! yum. thank you ! - 1/1/11
