Introduction

I like to divide this into snack size bags for a quick, ready-to-go snack on the run. Keeps me from hitting the fast food! This has less fat & sodium than a bag of chips from the vending machine at work. :) I like to divide this into snack size bags for a quick, ready-to-go snack on the run. Great with a variation based on another recipe for fiber snacks listed on the recipe page. I melted the chocolate chips and mixed with fiber one cereal, let cool in bowl and broke them up and added to the ingredients listed - 5/1/08

Great idea! I agree with some other posters, change one or two ingredients to make this even healthier, like raisins or dried cranberries instead of chocolate, and hot spicy peanuts instead of honey roasted for some extra zing. - 12/20/08

Great idea. Look forward to making it. I would put mine in snack bags of 1/2 cup each so I wouldn't be tempted to eat more when I'm out and about. Thanks. - 4/29/08

This is a good recipe, but I would not use the honey roasted peanuts, plain roasted are fun, less sweet, less calories. I will also use carob and whole wheat pretzels. Nice concept. - 4/29/08

I love YOLANDASAVAGE1's idea for using chocolate covered raisins, I usually use them rather than chocolate chips and raisins too! :) I sometimes break up rice cakes to add in place of the pretzels, or sometimes use popcorn. So many options! - 4/29/08

honey roasted peanuts are only 10 calories more than dry roasted! and I'll have to check the calorie difference on the yogurt raisins vs regular. Maybe the calorie difference will be negated by leaving out the sunflowers seeds? Great recipe-can't wait to play with it! - 1/15/11

Great Idea! Those trail mixes in the store are so expensive. This way you can also control what goes in it. I made mine with the mini m&m's because I am on the road alot and thought they might hold up better then the choclate morsels. I did the calculations and everything was about the same. Thanks - 5/4/08
