Number of Servings: 7

Ingredients

    1 lb. ground round
    1 c. chopped onions
    4 garlic cloves, minced
    1 (15 oz.) can kidney beans, undrained
    1 (14.5 oz) can stewed tomatoes
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1 Tbsp. oregano
    1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1 1/2 tsp. ground cumin
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    7 Tbsp. nonfat sour cream
    sliced green onion (optional)

Directions

Coat large saucepan with cooking spray; place over medium high heat. Add meat, onion and garlic; cook until meat is browned, stirring to crumble. Drain well, return mix to pan. Add beans and next 8 ingredients; stir well. Cover, reduce heat, simmer for 20 minutes.

Makes 7 (1-cup) servings. Serve with 1 Tbsp. sour cream. Garnish with green onion.

Please note: spice level (heat) can be adjusted by adding more or less chili powder and cumin, depending on taste.
