Introduction
Ham and cheese on french toast Ham and cheese on french toastNumber of Servings: 1
Ingredients
-
2 slices of bread
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
butter for the pan
2 slices of deli turkey
1 slice of deli ham
1 slice of swiss cheese
Directions
Makes 1 sandwich
Scramble the egg in a pie pan and add milk to get a good consistency. Preheat your pan or griddle, melt butter if needed.
Briefly soak the bread in the egg/milk mixture, then add to preheated pan "inside" down. Fry the deli meats at the same time.
When the inside of the sandwich is toasted, flip one piece of bread, quickly arrange the meats and cheese on top, and then place the other piece of bread on top with the toasted side down. When the bottom is toasted, flip the entire sandwich and cook until done.
If making this sandwich for a packed lunch, simply make the french toast, cool it in the refrigerator, then assemble the sandwich cold.
This is also good with raspberry jam or mustard. Orange juice or tomato soup makes a good side.
