Introduction

Modified slightly from Eating Well.

I didn't include the tortilla, so you can add in your own. I used Trader Joe's Refried Black Bean with Jalapeno. If you use plain refried beans, I would include 1 Tbsp pickled jalapenos.

Ingredients

    Burgers:
16 oz 96% lean ground beef
    1 cup refried beans
    1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 Tbsp chopped pickled jalapenos (not included)

    Whole wheat tortilla (not included)

    Suggested toppings (not included)
    Guacamole
    Lettuce
    Cheese
    Olives

Directions

Position oven rack in upper third of oven; preheat broiler. Coat a broiler pan with cooking spray. If you don't have a broiler pan, you can use a wire rack on a baking sheet.

Gently combine beef, beans, cilantro, and jalapenos in a bowl (do not overmix). Shape into four 5 by 2 inch oblong patties and place on the prepared pan.

Broil the patties until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the center reads 165 F, 12-14 minutes. Or until no longer pink.

Warm tortillas, spread with guacamole and whatever toppings you would like. Top each with a burger and roll into a wrap.
