Ingredients

    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 tbsp whole flax seed
    1 tsp salt
    water
    canola oil

Directions

Mix the dry ingredients together with a whisk. Slowly whisk in water until you have a stiff but pliable dough. After lightly oiling your hands, work the dough with your hands until the dough is smooth, 2-3 minutes. Form the dough into 6 balls, keeping them covered. Heat a nonstick pan over medium-high heat. One at a time, flatten the balls onto a floured surface and roll into circles about 6 inches across. Cook chapatis about 1-2 minutes per side, or until lightly browned. Makes 6 breads.

    Incredible!
Great recipe! I let mine sit at room temp overnight in an oiled ziplock bag. Then I roll them out in the morning. This makes a very light and tender chapatis. - 2/24/12

    Incredible!
Very Tasty! I thought they were a bit salty, but I'm on a low sodium diet, so I might just be a bit sensitive. I read on another recipe to press down (firmly) with a wadded paper towel to produce bubbles after flipping - it works great! They puff like a pita! - 2/25/11
