Introduction

This is not diet food, but something I enjoy a bit of every now and then. I input it so that my calories would be accurate the odd time I do have it, and to know how big of a slice I can have and still be on track! Ingredients

    Crust:
    1/3 cup Becel Original Margarine
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon vanilla
    1 cup all-purpose flour

    Cream cheese filling:
    1 250 gr. package cream cheese, softened
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 large egg
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

    Apple mixture:
    1/3 cup sugar
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    4 Gala apples, peeled, cored, sliced
    1/4 cup sliced almonds



Directions

Crust:
Cream margarine, sugar and vanilla using an electric mixer. Blend in flour manually. Spread the dough on bottom and sides of a 9-inch spring-form pan.

Preheat oven to 450.

Cream cheese filling:
Combine softened cream cheese and sugar using an electric mixer. Mix well. Add egg and vanilla, mix well. Pour into lined pastry pan.

Apple mixture:
Combine sugar and cinnamon and toss apples in mixture. Spoon mixture over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle with almonds.

Bake at 450 for 10 minutes in upper middle of oven. Reduce heat to 400 and bake for 25 more minutes. Loosen torte from rim. Cool before removing.
