Ingredients

    1 pkg. chocolate or yellow cake mix
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 large egg

Directions

Beat egg, add cherry pie filling and mix well, add cake mix and stir until cake mix is moistened. Spread in a greased 13 by 9 inch pan and bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes (test with a toothpick, if it comes out clean then it's done).
Serve with a dallop of cool whip if desired!

    Love this cake!! I've been making it for years, and use the No Sugar Added Cherry Pie Filling, and just add a little water to make it pourable. I don't use the egg, and it comes out great everytime. - 2/2/09
