Ingredients

    1 cup whole wheat flour
    1 cup oat flour
    2 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 tsp baking soda
    2 cups low fat buttermilk
    1 whole egg
    1 egg whites
    1 T low fat margarine (5 g fat per T)

Tips

Can add pecans to the batter, fat grams will increase. I like to serve with berries.


Directions

Mix dry ingredients. Separate egg, beat all egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add egg yolk to butter milk and mix. Combine the milk mixture with the dry ingredients. Then add the melted margarine. Fold in the egg whites.

Cook according to your waffle iron instructions.
