Introduction

Pretty much the easiest taco filling ever. A much healthier substitute for the meat in a standard taco. Pretty much the easiest taco filling ever. A much healthier substitute for the meat in a standard taco.

Ingredients

    *Publix Chick Peas, 1/2 cup
*Old El Paso Taco Seasoning, 2 tsp

Directions

Put 1/2 cup of beans into a skillet (do not drain-use liquid!). Dump in the taco seasoning. Stir and let simmer for about 10-15 minutes.
Add beans and other ingredients to your tacos, burritos, and/or taco salads.
Fills up to two soft tacos for me (at 1/4 cup each individual tortilla).

I am so happy I cam upon this recipe last year! My hubbie and I make it at least once a month... it's so easy, healthy, and tasty! Even HE likes it!! For the two of us I make 1 can of garbanzos with 1-2 tablespoons olive oil and 2 tablespoons taco spice. Yum yum yum!!! - 1/23/09

    Incredible!
I just made this for lunch as a garbanzo taco salad. I put it on green leaf lettuce, green onions, diced tomatoes, and crushed sweet chili chips. It was great. Thanks! - 8/19/11

Awesome! Very tasty and very quick and easy! And with ingredients I almost always have on hand. This one stays in my recipe box. Thanks! - 8/15/11

    Incredible!
This recipe will be one of my favorites to make. I like them better than making tacos with "meat" crumblers. I made a wrap with tomato, onion, and tofutti better than sour cream. Delicious!!! - 7/14/09
