Ingredients

    2 1/2 cups flour
    1/2 cup white sugar
    2 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
    1 1/4 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    4 tbsp margarine
    1 cup milk
    brown sugar (not listed in ingredients)

Directions

1. Mix together flour, white sugar, cream of tartar, baking soda, & salt in large bowl.
2. Work in margarine.
3. Add milk & mix to make dough soft.
4. Roll out dough to make rectangle.
5. Spread with margarine & sprinkle on brown sugar.
6. Roll up (like a jelly roll)
7. Cut in 1 inch slices & place on greased cookie sheet.
8. Dot the top with jelly/jam.
9. Bake at 400•F for 10-15 minutes.

Makes 2 dozen "muffins"
