A savory twist on corn bread. A savory twist on corn bread.
Number of Servings: 12


    1 c cornmeal
    1 c flour
    1 tsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    1 egg
    1/4 c melted butter
    1 c milk
    1 can cream corn
    1/2 c chopped onions
    1 sm can diced green chilis
    1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese


Combine dry ingredients in bowl and mix. In separate bowl combine wet ingredients. Mix well. Stir all ingredients until just combined. Pour into buttered 8 in pan. Bake at 400 for 35 - 40 minutes.

    This is so moist and delicious! Usually I slather corn bread with butter but this did not need a drop! Tastes just like Paula Deen's recipe but w/out the sour cream & oil! It's the perfect side to taco soup! - 1/15/09
