Introduction

This is my Sunday morning tradition. Homemade rolls from a basic biscuit batter that are easy and delicious at breakfast. Ingredients

    2 cups sifted flour
    1 tbsp baking powder
    1 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp baking soda
    1/2 stick Blue Bonnet Light, softened
    3/4 cup buttermilk
    1 stick Blue Bonnet Light, softened
    3/4 cup brown sugar, unpacked
    1 tsp cinnamon

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and prepare a round cake pan. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add softened margarine and cut in using a pastry cutter or two forks. The mixture should look crumby. Add buttermilk and Stir until just blended. Turn out and knead on a well floured surface until smooth. Roll into a 15x8-inch rectangle. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Spread softened margarine over the dough then sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar. Roll up like a jelly roll and pinch seam to seal. Cut into 8 slices and place in the baking pan. Bake until lightly browned and cooked through, about 20 minutes. Serve warm.
