Ingredients

    2 eggs
    1 t salt
    1/4 t black pepper
    2 t chili powder
    1 T Worcestershire sauce
    1 t liquid smoke flavoring
    6 0z small elbow macaroni
1 lb ground beef (nutritional analysis done on extra lean)
3-4 8oz cans tomato sauce (with or without salt. Salted tomato sauce adds 700+ mg of sodium)

Directions

Mix eggs and seasonings. Add uncooked macaroni and meat. Mix well. Form into golf ball sized meatballs. Brown in skillet. Pour tomato sauce over browned meatballs. Cover pan and simmer 30 minutes or until macaroni is done.
Makes 6 servings. We have been known to double or triple the recipe just to ensure leftovers.

Since many people have a sodium issue, using low salt tomato sauce would cut the sodium count considerably.

I'm so glad! It's been a favorite in my family since sometime in the early 1960's.

The whole family loved this - and that's rare! I made it with spaghetti noodles (broken into short pieces) and jarred pasta sauce because that's all I had. A unique turn on some favorite flavors. - 3/15/09

These meatballs are delicious and requested often at our house!

I see a couple people asking about adding the macaroni uncooked to the meatballs. Yes combine all the ingredients and make into meatballs the macaroni will cook while the meat is cooking

I made this recipe but I substituted the tomato sauce with 5 cheese marinara sauce. It was very tasty but I ended up burning some of the meatballs. I'll try it you way next time. - 5/27/18
