Introduction

I am borrowing this from another website, just had to see what the nutritional value was! (I did adjust it to replace some sugar with Splenda, used Unsweetened Chocolate instead of dark, and unsweetened applesauce instead of original, all not part of the original recipe but I was going for low carb here!) It looks very good and I'll be baking for my Mom's Birthday. I needed to find a low carb recipe and this looks the best! Ingredients

    * Bakers Unsweetened Chocolate, 16 serving (remove)
    * Butter, unsalted, 1 stick (remove)
    * Vanilla Extract, 1 tbsp (remove)
    * Egg, fresh, 6 large (remove)
    * *Splenda, 36 tsp (remove)
    * *Musselman's Home Style Natural Unsweetened Apple Sauce, 0.25 cup (remove)
    * Cocoa, dry powder, unsweetened, .75 cup (remove)
    * Powdered Sugar, 1 tbsp, unsifted (remove)

Directions

First pre-heat oven to 425, spray cake pan and shake ΒΌ cup cocoa powder inside (just like Mom used to do with flour) Dice chocolate and put in microwave safe bowl with butter and vanilla. Cook on high in one minuet intervals stir between cooking segments till chocolate is completely melted, set aside. Cream sugar, eggs, apple sauce, and salt, slowly add to melted chocolate. When fully incorporated fold in cocoa powder. Pour into the prepared 9" pan. Bake 30 minuets or till cake tester comes out clean. Cool on rack ten minuets before removing from pan. Sprinkle with powder sugar just before serving.
