Introduction

Ingredients

3 cups Old Fashioned oats
1/2 c ground flax
1/2 c raisins. (Craisins would be good, too!)
3 TBS Smart Balance Omega Plus Buttery Spread
1 TBS Olive Oil
1/4 c agave nectar
3 TBS Sunbutter
1 tsp vanilla (optional)
TBS Cinnamon
tsp cloves
tsp nutmeg
Directions
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add oats and cook and stir until they are beginning to brown and crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and spread out on a cookie sheet to cool.
Melt the margarine in the same pan over medium heat. Stir in agave nectar, cook stirring constantly until very bubbly all over the pan, add vanilla. Pour oats into the mixture along with flax seeds, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg and cook and stir another 5 minutes.
Turn oven off. Spread oat mixture into the cookie sheet and place into oven until cool.
Once cool, transfer to an airtight container and stir in raisins.
Additional fruit and nuts (or even chocolate or carob chips) can be added at this time and stirred in also.
Makes 21 servings @ 1/3 cup.
