Ingredients



    * *Flour, white, 3 cup
    * *Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
    * Milk, 2%, 2 cup
    * Granulated Sugar, 1.5 cup
    * Cinnamon, ground, 1 tbsp
    * Cloves, ground, 2 tsp
    * Allspice, 1 tsp
    * Salt, 1 tsp
    * Walnuts, .6 cup, chopped
    * Baking Soda, 1 tsp
    * *Canola Oil, 1 tbsp
    * Applesauce, unsweetened, 1 cup (remove)

Directions

Mix dry ingredients well. Add the apple sauce and milk to a well in the center. Stir until completely moistened and add walnuts.
Bake in an 9x13 pan that is greased and floured for 45 minutes at 375. Serves a 2 inch square to about 40 people.

    This is very good! I will do it again. It is just difficult to get this cut into 40 pieces. Next time I plan to add raisins and omit the walnuts. Fairly moist considering that I forgot to add the canola oil. - 8/14/11
