I make my taco's with low fat cheese & ground chicken.I prefer not to use anything in packages, they have so much salt & preservatives. I use the taco mix that comes in a jar next to all the other spices.
My family enjoys it this way. I have to say also that it tastes good.

I buy taco shells AND tortilla's and instead of using the cheese in the taco i melt it on the tortilla and wrap it around the hard shell. its so great because you still get the hard shell but not as much of a mess. - 7/29/08

I've made this before and just love it! I use finely chopped onions, mushrooms and garlic cooked up in a tiny bit of olive oil before cooking up the fake meat with it. Gives it a bit more flavor that the meat loving men in my family love to eat when I make it! - 5/1/08

I just found dinner. I am going to add some black beans and may cut the cheese in half and use one of the low carb mission style tortillas for a soft taco. I think this will be great. - 1/26/08
