Ingredients

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 tablespoons shortening
    3/4 cups warm water

    2 quarts oil for frying

    Editor's Note:
We have determined the nutritional value of oil for frying based on a retention value of 10% after cooking. The exact amount may vary depending on cook time and temperature, ingredient density, and the specific type of oil used.

Be sure to use enough oil so that the food doesn't drop the temp more than a few degrees when you put it in. With good temp control, very little oil is absorbed. - 11/17/18
