Introduction

These are perfect to BBQ. I also use this recipe to make meatballs (add an egg and 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs). These are perfect to BBQ. I also use this recipe to make meatballs (add an egg and 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs).

Ingredients

    1 1/2 lb lean ground turkey
    1 package of frozen spinach (10 oz.)
    1/2 cup parmesan cheese
    4 cloves of garlic, chopped
    2 tbsp olive oil
    2 tbsp dried basil
    Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Defrost and strain frozen spinach. Use a paper towel to drain off any excess liquid.

Mix the ground turkey, spinach, cheese, garlic, dried basil and olive oil together and form burger patties. Season with salt and pepper.

Grill on BBQ or cook in a pan over medium heat until cooked through. You could also substitute feta for the parmesan.

Makes 6 burger patties.

    Really good - since my boyfriend and I are not watching what we eat, we used ground beef instead. We used only half a package of frozen spinach, but followed the rest of the recipe to the tee, and I didn't miss the extra spinach. They were really delicious. - 8/22/11

    I made this with 19 oz. of turkey as that is how it was package & still got 6 good size burgers. Using the recipe calculator, each was about 195 calories. I didn't add an egg and they kept together on the grill. I may add more seasoning next time. A keeper! - 8/6/11

    These burgers were most excellent. I used the feta cheese. They really held together on the grill. The flavor was a wonderful change to the regular "burger". I served them with a salad and use light buns. We all enjoyed it very much and will have the leftovers tonight! - 7/18/11

    This was great! except I subbed the turkey for turkey w/taco seasoning. and the spinach for kale and the basil for Italian seasoning. My dd gave up her pb&j for it and I am literally stuffed. (I even had to turn down an oatmeal cookie) - 2/16/09
