Ingredients

    1/3 c bread crumbs
8 ounces boneless skinless chicken breast cut into nugget sized pieces
    2 T Tabasco Sauce
    1 t onion powder
    1 t garlic powder
    1 t Cayenne Pepper
    1 t Black Pepper

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Place bread crumbs in a pie pan. Add seasonings and mix well. Place chicken pieces in a separate dish, and cover and toss with hot sauce. Spray a sheet pan with nonstick spray. Give each chicken piece a shake (so it's not dripping with hot sauce), and then coat it evenly with the crumbs.Use one hand for the wet ingredients and one for the wet ingredients so that the bread crumbs will not clump. Place the nuggets on the sheet pan. Bake 10 minutes. Flip and bake for an additional 7-8 minutes or until fully cooked. Serve with additional hot sauce, if desired, or bleu cheese dressing. This recipe was excellent, but I found I needed more than 22 grams of bread crumbs to cover the chicken. I needed about 70 grams to cover 8 ounces of chicken. This raised the calorie content a bit, but it was still within my acceptable range and tasted amazing. - 6/30/09

STELLAR! I used a little more garlic and onion powder and a little less cayenne pepper for this. They were not only delicious, they LOOKED yummy too! Honestly these taste like restaurant quality chicken strips, and I love how healthy they are! Thanks so much! - 7/23/08

Made these tonight, and served on a huge bed of shredded lettuce with ranch dressing. YUM, totally satisfied my wing craving. Of course, I HAD to use Frank's Red Hot for superb flavor. Thanks!! - 2/2/10

I cheated & used a hot wing marinade for the chicken & then breaded them. I had to bake them longer than 10 minutes on both sides to try and get them to crisp up (& ultimately mine didn't turn out crisp) but none the less, they were still incredible. - 11/12/08

This made for a very good meal - fairly quick to put together and quite tasty. The only thing I would change is the portion size - even if it's doubled it's still only ~260 calories, which is decent for a main dish.

Thanks for the great Sunday dinner!

/my husband & I loved this recipe. It was a lot more spicey than I expected it would be. But, I love spicey, so that's good. It totally satisfied my craving for wings without the mess & guilt!!! This will definitely become a game day staple in our house. - 2/13/09

Yumo! My 17 year old and his friends request pizza or hot wings whenever they get together. They love these and I know what the ingredients are. Plus they are shocked that I don't just order or open a bag. Fantastic! - 7/22/08

This is awesome!!! We love hot wings and I had been craving them. This was so good, it's hard to believe it is healthy. I like mine extra spicy, so I let the chicken soak in the hot sauce in the refridgerator for a few hours. I served it with a homemade low-fat blue cheese dressing. Delicious - 7/21/08

It was great, but a little hot with the tobasco and 1 tsp cayanne pepper, which is unusual b/c I really like HOT wings. Next time I would use more garlic or onion powder and less caynne. - 7/15/08

Not like wings but very tasty. I glanced at the ingredient list and didn't read through the directions carefully. I mixed the spices with the hot sauce which made a paste. Rolled the chicken in the breadcrumbs. Convection baked at 375 and they were crispy. Will make again. - 2/6/12

I am trying this tonight! My fiance loves hot wings, and this is a way that I can eat them too. I like the ideas about the salads. I will use LF ranch though. To make them crisp, try placing them on a cooling rack on the baking sheet. Heat goes all around the pieces. Flip them halfway though still. - 1/4/12
