I make my chips in the Micro wave. Place the corn tortilla on a square of folded parchment paper and nuke for about 115 seconds or so. I don't use the oil and no salt. Usually dips have enuf salt for me. Then just break them into chips. - 7/8/08

Very good, something I do when I have time for those times we bring home Mexican food so I can enjoy the salsa without the greasy chips...here's an idea for those concerned about salt..don't use it instead of complaining the recipe uses too much.....geez! - 1/5/09

I've made this recipe before without using any oil or the spices and it is good too. Simple, squeeze the juice from a room-temperature lime into a bowel, use well-washed hands to "Paint" the tortilla, cut in wedges, sprinkle with salt, and follow the rest of the recipe. Yum! - 1/4/09

I didn't spice them except with olive oil and salt because I didn't have a mister. Also, for mine, 12 minutes was even too much, I'm currently trying 10. - 10/7/07

This sounds great and I will make it!. We are on low sodium but know how to cut down. Those complaining about the sodium should adjust rather than complain. - 1/8/09

This looks interesting and I like a lot of the comment ideas. Thanks. I agree with one comment about negative comments EXCEPT it's alright, in my opinion, to say too much sodium, fat or whatever IF you offer other OPTION. Then the reader can use original recipe or your option. - 12/10/11

While this might be nice for a quick snack, it is billed as homemade tortilla chips, yet uses pre-made tortillas. Would have been more helpful with a tortilla recipe to make them from scratch (some of us do "from scratch cooking" to alter calorie/nutrition contents. - 1/5/08
