I have made this several times now and we love it!! I used reduced sodium soy sauce, and about half of the suggested amount. Also I include whatever I have on hand for fresh veggies. great way to get those veggies into the diet- this is one recipe I will pull out to make again & again!! - 1/2/10

This was very good, I did not use the oil and I drained my meat before adding the cabbage. My 5 year old also ate this without a fuss which is not often for her, so it's going in my recipe book. - 2/12/09

Delicious! I ate mine without rice! Make sure to drain as much of the oil as possible after browning the meat though! - 3/19/12

I like how it taste. I am looking forward to dinner tonight. I did make a slight change. I did not have any bell peppers or carrots left so I added a plum tomato and shallots (chopped), then added worcestershire sauce and grated parmesan cheese. - 5/25/10

This works well. If using beef, you don't need oil. An excellent way to use up any odds and ends of vegetables. I use a beef stock cube and bisto in my beef mince - great for covering the strong taste of cabbage for people who aren't so keen. Works well with sliced Brussels sprouts too. - 10/9/12

This was very good, my entire family loved it... I did not use the oil, added oregeno, cayenne pepper and worcestershire sauce for more flavor. I had rice as a side dish for everyone but me, I had mine w/o the rice to save on calories..this receipe is definately a keeper. - 9/19/12

I just got 10 lbs of cabbage from the unintended plants in my yard. this was a tasty way to use some of it. I like a little more spice tho, so I added some garlic and hot peppers. We will do it again! - 7/17/12

Our whole family loved this recipe! I used ground turkey, no oil, and cabbage which was pre-chopped to make cole slaw as a time saver. I also used low-sodium soy sauce. Since I didn't have green pepper, I substituted celery. It was very nicely seasoned. - 4/13/11

This was good--my kids ate it without comment, but with the olive oil added to the ground beef at the beginning, and no draining, it was a little greasy. I think next time I would omit the olive oil. - 5/2/08

I make this several times a month. Always a favorite at the dinner table. My picky 15 year old son wishes I would make it more often. It is one of his favorite meals.
I always sub ground turkey and add other veggies. He doesn't mind those either in this dish.

In lieu of Cabbage, use Asian or regular cole slaw mix. Green pepper can be chopped as well. Teriyaki or oyster sauce instead of soy. - 11/15/13
