I also wondered how the cocoa powder and sweetener would stick to the almonds. I used fat free cooking spray (like Pam) and Truvia instead of Splenda. The cocoa gives an intense chocolate flavor, but doesn't overwhelm the almond, and it's not too sweet. You can toast them for a few minutes too! - 8/1/10

to Kiranerys: When putting cinnamon and sugar on almonds you must first coat them in beaten egg whites. (a little added protein). Just whip up with a fork for a minute to break it up. Sprinkle cinnamon mix and bake in oven or cook on the stove while stirring. I am not sure of time and temp. - 11/12/09

This recipe take a wholesome food like almonds and make it very unhealthy by adding "splenda" to it. Please, avoid splenda and ALL similar sweeteners because they have devastating effects on the human body. - 6/27/10

If you don't want to use artificial sweeteners you can adapt the recipe with real sugar.

Not enough chocolate for me. I had to look around to figure out how to prepare this. I added a tablespoon of water and shook with cocoa and splenda in a baggie then baked at 350 for 15 minutes until "dried out". We had them at a SP taste test party. Good but not much different to plain almonds. - 11/16/09
