Ingredients

    SCONES:
    4 cups flour
    1 1/2 cup quick cooking oats
    2 T baking powder
    1 T granulated sugar
    1 T Splenda
    2 tsp salt
    1 lb (4 sticks) cold margarine, diced
    1/2 cup cold low fat buttermilk
    1/2 cup maple syrup
    4 large eggs, lightly beaten

    GLAZE:
    1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
    1.2 cup maple syrup
    1 tsp vanilla

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. In large bowl, combine flour, oats, baking powder, sugar, splenda, and salt. Cut in cold margarine. Combine buttermilk, syrup, and eggs and then add to the flour and butter mixture. Mix until blended. Dough will be sticky. Spoon into generously greased scone pan. Tops of scones may be brushed with egg wash and milk mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes until tops are crisp and just begin to turn golden. To make the glaze, combine powdered sugar, maple syrup, and vanilla and drizzle over warm scones.
