Introduction
I'll put the full fat version because it's all I've made & it won't be any more calories than this, but you could use fat free cool whip & cream cheese & margarine instead of butter. The photo is double the recipe. I use 2-9" rounds for this one. Ingredients
-
1 Box Butter Recipe Golden Cake Mix
2 small tubs of coolwhip
1 package cream cheese
1 quart of strawberries
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/3 cup sugar
Directions
-Bake cake according to package directions. (I use 2 - 9” round cake pans)
-Slice strawberries and add sugar, set aside to form some juice (My friend keeps complaining her icing is too runny, not sure if she has too much juice or what)
-Mix cool whip, cream cheese, and powdered sugar (I used a mixer on low speed)
-Add in strawberries and mix a little longer or just fold them in. ( I usually refill the cool whip tubs with the icing & put it in the fridge until the cake is cool..this might help if your icing is runny)
-Once cake is cool, just add frosting….Voila!
