Introduction

Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    1 cup Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) rehydrated as per the instructions
    1 tsp olive oil
    1 onion, chopped fine
    1 red pepper, chopped fine
    4 portabello mushrooms, chopped fine
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 cup ketchup
    1 cup barbecue sauce
    1 Tbsp Lee & Perrins
    Additional season as desired such as oregano, hot mustard, salt, pepper, etc. Play around until you get a flavour that you really like.

Directions

Makes 6 servings, approximately 3/4 cup each

Rehydrate the TVP

Heat olive oil in saucepan. Saute onion, red pepper until starting to soften. Add mushrooms, and continue cooking until vegetables are softening. Add TVP, sauces & seasoning.

Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking

Serve on a bun with shredded cheese if desired.
