Ingredients

    1 cup pitted, chopped dates
    2 tbsp flax seed + 3 tbsp water
    1 3/4 cups oats
    3/4 whole wheat flour
    1/3 cup shredded coconut
    1/4 teaspoon cloves
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

**makes 20 bars**

1) preheat oven to 375°F and spray a 9x13 baking pan with non-stick spray.

2) blend 1/2 dates with water until smooth.

3) combine date mixture with flax seed mixture and blend briefly.

4) in a separate bowl, combine oats, flour, spices, baking powder and salt. stir in date and flax mixture. fold in remaining 1/2 cup dates.

5) form mixture into pan and bake for 17 minutes. let cool before cutting. store in airtight container or freezer.

    Very Good
    These were good and I like the fact there was no sugar added. Instructions say to blend dates with water but no amount of water is given. I went with a cup and that seemed okay. - 1/28/16
